Getting to Italy [View from the plane] was an adventure. On the registration day of the workshop, [Catching up] regulars were reunited [More gather to talk] and joined the newcomers in discussion. Our accommodation [Sibari Golf Village] in the Sibari Golf Village consisted of [Apartment at Sibari Golf Village] individual apartments.

The next day, Valerio and Eleonora took us on a coach [Eleonora on the coach] to the workshop venue, Corigliano Calabro castle [Old Corigliano Calabro] in the old part [Roof-top view from Corigliano Calabro] of Corigliano Calabro. The castle, once owned by a Duke, has beautiful views [View from Corigliano Calabro ducal castle] and [Castle tower at Corigliano Calabro] [Another castle tower] towers.

At the top of the hill, we entered a castle gate, [Entrance to Corigliano Calabro castle] climbed the stairs [On the way to the workshop in the castle] and entered the cool building [Just outside the workshop room at the castle] to find the workshop room, [The workshop room with painted ceiling] magnificent with a Victorian painted ceiling and chandeliers.

The morning coffee break [Lavish morning break] was mistaken by some as lunch, because of the large selection [More food than we could eat!] of sandwiches, cakes and biscuits. We also ventured out [Willemien Visser] into the sun [Jasna Kuljis and Clayton Lewis] and discussed the first papers.

That evening, after dinner, some made use of the piano at the Sibari Golf for some music, [Thomas Green makes music] [Lindsay Marshall with guitar] dancing [Lindsay and Thomas with country dancing] [It's all a whirl!] and [Eleonora sings] singing.

The next day began with the paper from one of the invited speakers, [Clayton Lewis] Clayton Lewis. After lunch [Lunch time] at a restaurant which served authentic regional food, the afternoon was spent on guided tours [Guided tour] of Corigliano Calabro castle [Maria Kutar and Thomas Green]. [Buildings near the castle] and surrounding areas, [View from Corigliano Calabro] [Valley view] [Roof-tops and valley view from the castle] [Town and sea view from the castle] as well as of the oldest church in the town and an archaeological museum.

The tour [Tour guide and group] involved exploring the castle basement [Basement kitchen of the castle] and climbing a spiral staircase [Painted tower ceiling (lower ground floor)] up one of the castle towers, to rooms [painted tower ceiling (second floor)] painted different colours [Detail of the painted tower ceiling (second floor)] and with ornately-painted [Detail of the painted ceiling (third floor)] ceilings. At the top of the tower [Glass tower at the top of the castle tower] there were views over the town [View from the top of the castle tower] mountains and sea.

That evening was the Workshop Dinner, which was attended by the Mayor and Vice-Mayor of Corigliano Calabro. Discussion was animated [Thomas Green and Christian Holmbow] at the various tables, as course after course was brought out, with fish [Fish supper] dishes featuring as well as [Meat course] pork. The last course was a special PPIG cake [PPIG cake] which was ceremoniously sliced by PPIG veterans, [Thomas and Judith slice the cake] Thomas Green and Judith Segal.

After the Officials left, we settled down [After-dinner talks] to hear the winners of the workshop competitions.

On the final day of the workshop, after a morning of papers, those left headed for the beach [Trees between the Golf Village and the beach] for a closing PPIG discussion in a [Beach hut] beach hut. Some [Francoise Detienne and Willemien Visser] explored the beach, [Frank Wales, Francoise Detienne, Willemien Visser and Markku Tukiainen on the beach] and then joined the others in a [Beach discussion] discussion about future plans.

When we returned to the Sibari Golf Village, final discussions [Group after the final paper] were underway as people got ready to leave [Francoise Detienne and Willemien Visser] and wait for the [Heading to the airport] transport to the airport.
